Specification: This device is used to determine the workability and degree of compaction of fresh concrete after being placed in the forms. It can be used for in-situ measurements or inside test moulds and forms. Results can be correlated against the slump test.
The operation is very simple: insert the tester into the concrete up to the level of the disc, after 60 seconds, a measuring rod in lowered onto the surface of the concrete and the K-slump is read directly on a scale. The calibrated hollow tube has a dia. of 20 mm.

It is designed to carry a load of 140 kg . The apparatus consists of a motor fitted with a variable pitch pulley housed in a cabinet. The vibrations are imparted by means off-balance masses rotating on a shaft of a vibrator clamped to the underside of the table top. Compaction factor test is the workability test for concrete conducted in loboratory. the compaction factor is the ratio of weights of partically compacted to fully compacted concrete. it was devloped by road research lobortory in united kingdom and is used to determine the workability on concrete.
The compaction factor test is used for concrete which have low workability for which slump test is no suitable.
